Upon his departure, following his four day stay at the Diocese of Ras and Prizren in Kosovo, His Eminence Hilarion, Archbishop of Volokolamsk, presented his gracious host His Grace Bishop Artemije with a beautiful panagia engolpion and expressed his gratitude for the bishop’s kind hospitality. Bishop Artemije responded: “This which you have seen is only a small part of that which has occurred and what is happening in Kosovo and Methohija. Just as the Lord told His holy Apostles to go throughout the world and witness the Gospel, so too must you, dear Bishop, go to all the world and be a witness of what you have seen.”

In related news President Bill Clinton was in Kosovo on Sunday to witness the unveiling of a statue in his honor. See here. He was quoted as saying, “I never expected that anywhere, someone would make such a big statue of me.”  Methinks, however, that the words of Cato the Elder are more appropriate: “I would much rather have men ask why I have no statue, then why I have one.”
